In today’s sermon, Sam Boateng leads us as we continue with the sermon on the Mount. In Matthew 19, Jesus addresses the Pharisees’ question about divorce.

The Pharisees were concerned with the letter of the law, seeking loopholes to justify their actions while still appearing righteous. They focused on the legal requirements of divorce, such as providing a certificate, but ignored the spirit of the law, which emphasized the sanctity of marriage. Jesus challenged this selective obedience by highlighting the deeper implications of divorce and adultery, emphasizing that breaking the marital bond for any reason other than sexual immorality was, in itself, a violation of God’s will.
